The mission of the Resource Center for the Visually Impaired is to provide access to instructional materials in the appropriate media in a timely manner to students with visual disabilities, including those with multiple disabilities, enrolled in local education agencies across the state of Tennessee. Access to accessible instructional materials is essential for the educational programs and progress of students with visual disabilities. The Resource Center exists to assist local education agencies in meeting this critical need.
May and June 2007Park Center of Nashville
The mission of Park Center of Nashville is to serve individuals with mental illness through comprehensive and integrative services that focus on needs, choices and strengths promoting personal growth and improved quality of life. Park Center provides job training and placement, housing, treatment, case management, dual diagnosis groups and other support services for adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness. Our goal is to erase the stigma of mental illness in our community while supporting adults with mental illness through the recovery process.

Since 1955, MDA has built bridges and knocked down barriers for youngsters with neuromuscular diseases by providing an unforgettable week at MDA summer camp. Campers say the week they spend at MDA camp is "the best week of the year." Each year MDA supports nearly 90 summer camps across the country. MDA Camp is a magical place where year-round skills are developed and where a child with a disability can just be a kid.

Happy Tales Humane is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of animals in Middle Tennessee by rescuing, caring for, and finding adoptive homes for unwanted pets; by taking action to prevent pet overpopulation; by fostering a respect for all life; by encouraging volunteerism; and by educating the community about responsible pet guardianship.
