BUDGETING: HOW TO PREPARE AND DEFEND YOUR
BUDGET
Learn what it takes to develop a budget, justify variances and measure
the bottom-line impact throughout the fiscal year. Integrating clinical
knowledge with just-in-time resources to provide quality care is one of
the unique contributions Nurse Managers can make when they are
thoroughly familiar with the fundamentals of fiscal management. Once
you gain these skills, you’ll have a new outlook on how to manage
effectively—and are more likely to enjoy your role, since you’ll be armed
with the facts and figures so valued in the decision-making process.
STAFFING AND SCHEDULING
In this session, you will learn to define, assess, measure and
communicate staffing effectiveness for your unit(s). You’ll gain the
principles of
evidence-based scheduling and even get the opportunity to
apply its framework in case studies. You’ll be invited to join a staffing
and budgeting laboratory where faculty will present a real-life scenario
providing individual assistance and addressing obstacles that participants
faced in developing, finalizing and, most importantly, living their
staffing pattern.
