Michelle Fryt Linehan MSPT, PCS, M.Ed.
Consilience: "the 'jumping' (joining) together of knowledge and information across disciplines to create a unified framework for understanding." This session will use the consilience method to examine motor problems faced by children with developmental disabilities. The speaker will pull together ideas from various fields including art, neuroscience, physics, kinesiology and psychology to give the participants a new way of looking at common pediatric motor issues and provide ideas for the development of treatment techniques. Recent research relating to children with hypertonia, hypotonia and developmental coordination disorder will be discussed. This session will involve audience participation by sharing ideas and personal experiences.
