307 - Treating Burn Injury

The session provides the occupational therapy professional with a comprehensive overview of OT's role in the treatment of clients who have experienced burn injury. General information including burn injury classification will be presented as well as detailed information on OT's role in the care and treatment of clients who have experienced burn injuries on both an acute and long-term level. Topics will include our role as OT's during the acute phase of injury, including splinting, improving and maintaining range of motion, and provision of short term compression garments as well as long-term treatment interventions.
