Track 4
407 - Addressing Infant/Toddler Daily Living Skills with Sensorimotor Practices
Jenny Clark Brack OTR/L, BCP
In this session, attendees will explore infant/toddler sensory processing needs accompanied by interventions addressing occupations: eating, bathing, sleeping, dressing and playing. Attendees will learn to identify sensory processing problems in young children through observational suggestions, parent interview questions, utilizing a sensory checklist and using the standardized assessment Infant/Toddler Sensory Profile. Four quadrants of sensory processing will be discussed: low registration, sensation seeking, sensory sensitivity and sensation avoiding. This session will address simple sensory solutions for parents to use with their child, so that attendees can have practical suggestions to provide to families.
