Track 2
208 - Evaluation and Management of the Adolescent Athlete
Ross Brakeville PT, DPT, STC
Young athletes are particularly prone to sustaining musculoskeletal injuries as a result of increased demands paced on the immature growing skeleton at a time in which it is most vulnerable. This session will provide the participant an understanding of musculoskeletal issues specific to the skeletally immature athlete. It will combine lecture with case presentations to be discussed in an open forum. Case presentations will include evaluation of radiographs, determining a medical diagnosis (what), a physical therapy diagnosis (why) and treatment strategies for each case.
