Speaker's Bio Testimonials

This seminar is taught by Dr. Jay Carter, a uniquely qualified professional who is a Diplomat Candidate in Psychopharmacology sanctioned by the American Psychological Association. He has done over 6,000 psychological and psychiatric evaluations and has treated people with bipolar disorder for over two years at a county prison and over six years at the Caron Foundation (one of the top three drug and alcohol rehabs in the country). His rich experience also comes from personal experience, as his mother was bipolar and also has a family history of the disorder, atypically on the female gene.

He insists on more than an intellectual understanding of the bipolar disorder. To treat this disorder in a state of the art way, one must have a FEEL for it. Dr. Carter delivers this seminar with an appropriate sense of humor and uses stories and analogies to give you a feel for it. According to Dr. Carter, "I try not to use technical terms when I can help it. Otherwise, people get sleepy and may get a headache by the end of the day. Once you see the bigger picture, the little details fall into place. We do the larger picture first, then the details have more meaning, and there is more enthusiasm." You will find this seminar both interesting and fun and will walk away with a better understanding of the bipolar disorder along with a wealth of new knowledge to add to your therapy options.

Dr. Carter worked two and a half years as a prison psychologist and six years as a psychologist at the Caron Foundation (one of the top three substance rehabs in the country).
