Taking a Different Direction Toward Bipolar Therapy

This seminar is taught by Dr. Jay Carter, a uniquely qualified professional who is a Diplomate Candidate in Psychopharmacology (Prescribing Psychologists Register). He has conducted over 6,000 psychological and psychiatric evaluations and has treated people with bipolar disorder for over two years at a county prison and over six years at the Caron Foundation (one of the top three drug and alcohol rehabs in the country). His rich experience also comes from personal experience, as his mother had bipolar disorder, as well as other family members.

He insists on more than an intellectual understanding of the bipolar disorder. To treat this disorder in a state of the art way, one must have a FEEL for it. Dr. Carter delivers this seminar with an appropriate sense of humor and uses stories and analogies to give you a good presentation of it. According to Dr. Carter, "I try not to use technical terms so people don’t get sleepy or have a headache by the end of the day. It is explained in terms that you would use to explain it to a client. Once you see the bigger picture, it helps the details fall into place and have more meaning." Dr. Carter strives to keep the information fresh and evidence-based, that even people who have taken this seminar a couple years prior report that it was worthwhile taking it again for the updates and review. You will find this seminar both interesting and fun and will walk away with a better understanding of the bipolar disorder along with a wealth of new knowledge to apply to other disorders.
