Michael share a little insight as to why he became a Substitute Teacher, great advice for those just starting out in the field as well as why he chooses DirectEd Educational Services.
Why did you become a Substitute Teacher?
I became a substitute teacher to help me get my foot in the door of the education field and give me more experience in the classrooms with students.
What do you like about DirectEd?
DirectEd has been a great way to get acquainted with many school in the Los Angeles area and provides an easy system to choose the jobs that best fit my schedule and experience.
What have you liked about your experience working at schools with DirectEd?
Working with the schools also has provided me with some insight on the strengths of the students in the area and the challenges that we, as educators and a community, must help them overcome.
What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?
To those coming into the education field, either as a substitute or a permanent teacher, try to be open to whatever experiences the classrooms have to offer and try to learn and grow from those experiences. While the challenges can be high, so can the rewards!
