Employee Recognition

At Cross Country Education, we’re proud to work with the best of the best from across the nation – like Daniel B., an emergency medicine technician (EMT) who is dedicated to giving back and keeping his community safe.

As an EMT with Cross Country Education, Daniel serves as a valuable member of the COVID Testing Team and helps support the reopening of schools. We’ve chosen Daniel as EMT of the Month and asked him to share what motivated him to become an EMT, what he enjoys about working with Cross Country Education, and what advice he would share for others interested in becoming an EMT. Here’s what he had to say:

  • I am honored to be recognized as EMT of the month. I am honestly at a loss for words because I work hard since that’s how I was raised, and it is an honor to be recognized for it.
  • Why did you become an EMT?
  • I became an EMT because I wanted to give back to the people of my community in a big way. Once I finished my class and got my license, the rest was history. I’m still trying to figure out what’s next because there’s so much out there for me to do but choosing to be an EMT was the first step in the right direction.

  • What do you like about being an EMT with Cross Country Education?
  • With schools opening back up again, the students finally have an opportunity to get some sense of normalcy back in their lives. With how restrictive COVID made our lives, Cross Country Education is doing their part in making the school openings run smoother and safer, and I’m fortunate enough to be a part of that.

  • What have you liked about your experience working at schools with Cross Country Education?
  • What I have liked about my experience so far working at the schools with Cross Country Education is how open and patient the teachers and students are to the testing process. It’s now become so commonplace that when I show up, it’s no longer them welcoming the EMT that makes us do the COVID tests, and now it’s, “Hey, it’s Daniel, what’s up!”

  • What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field as EMTs?
  • I would advise anyone starting out in my field to have patience and be willing to adapt. COVID has changed what our normal was. We have to learn to adapt in order to provide the best care that we possibly can.

Thank you for your passion for the health and safety of our nation’s kids, Daniel! It’s a privilege to have you as part of the Cross Country Team.
