We are fortunate to have some outstanding field staff at Cross Country Education! Their passion for the work they do shines everyday and the lives and communities they impact will last a lifetime.

We are so proud to announce Anthea Harrell as our #SpEd Employee of the Month for January 2020. Her dedication and commitment to her students is unparalleled and it shows. Anthea took some time to share with us why she became a Case Manager as well as some advice for those just starting out in the field. Thank you, Anthea, for sharing and for being a part of the team – you make us proud!

Why did you become a Case Manager?

I became a Case Manager because I enjoy supporting students with learning and ensuring they are receiving what they need through the learning process. I believe in playing a role as an advocate to support parents through the process as well. In addition, I enjoy collaborating with all stakeholders to ensure we are doing what is best for students.

What do you like about Cross Country Education (formerly Direct Ed)?

I like the flexibility with the weekly hours to complete tasks. DirectEd has innovative energy and has a strong point of view when supporting clients and students. In addition, DirectEd is welcoming to employee ideas and suggestions to make the company a better place.

What have you liked about your experience working at CCE schools?

Working with different clients has been a wonderful journey together as a team. Supporting staff and students on their journey to success has been amazing. I have enjoyed playing a role in the schools’ desire to help shape the lives of future leaders.

What kind of advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?

You are not alone. Reach out to others for support. Keep in mind, do what is best for all students. In addition, you are important; therefore take care of yourself.
