We’re Spotlighting Crisis Prevention Intervention Aide Kevin G.

At Cross Country Education, we're honored to work with professionals from across the nation who are dedicated to improving kids' lives daily! We take great pride in their shared passion for helping students succeed, and we love passing along their insight to inspire others interested in school positions. This time, we're spotlighting one of our outstanding crisis prevention intervention (CPI) aides, Kevin G.

Here's why Kevin decided to become a crisis prevention intervention aide, what he enjoys most about working with the Cross Country Education team and schools, and what advice he has for CPI aides just starting their careers.

Kevin G., Crisis Prevention Intervention Aide

  • Why did you become a crisis prevention intervention aide?

I became a crisis prevention intervention aide to help provide extra sources to my community. Being a CPI aide is a privilege and tough work. We are at the forefront of ensuring students’ safety is top priority.

  • What do you like about working with Cross Country Education?

One amazing thing I love about Cross Country Education is the welcoming environment produced by every individual at all levels of our agency. At every professional development meeting, everyone is genuine and nice.

  • What have you liked about your experience working at schools

with Cross Country Education? By doing day-to-day assignments, I have been able to meet so many different students with a variety of characters. Each day on the job is never the same. I love how each day brings a new experience. It's never a dull moment here at Cross Country Education.

  • What kind of advice would you give to those starting out as a CPI aide?

One main piece of advice I would give to someone starting out in the field is to be patient with yourself and not be overly self-critical. No one is a master at anything without putting in the time and dedication. It is so easy to put ourselves down. We are all living this life for the first time, so be patient.
