Meet Our Educator of the Month, Gregg S.
Why did you become a Substitute Teacher?
The reason I became a substitute teacher is because I felt I could add a little more harmony, a little more brevity, in helping students lower any negative response they may have towards education.
What do you like about Cross Country Education?
Cross Country Education has their teachers’ backs; in other words, through their actions, clearly demonstrates they care about their employees. CCE does this by creating an excellent support system, being very flexible, extremely fair, not to mention, excellent compensation. I feel very privileged to work with Cross Country Education.
What have you liked about your experience working at schools with Cross Country Education?
What I like most about working at schools with Cross Country is that Cross Country allows me the flexibility to work with schools I feel most comfortable with, never pressuring me into taking an assignment I do not want. This allows me to really focus on student outcomes, to let my natural affinity for my students and classes emerge, which makes for excellent learning environments. The students feel this and are very learning responsive, as I believe, they know that the teacher truly cares for them.
What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?
Keep and make learning fun and exactly at students’ levels all while achieving the objectives of the full-time teacher. I believe students learn best this way, and it is my way of contributing, even if just for one day.
