At Cross Country Education we’re breaking out the virtual pompoms, back handsprings, toe touches, and resounding cheers to celebrate our charter school communities during National Charter Schools Week, 2020.
Above and Beyond
The theme of this year’s National Charter Schools Week is “Above and Beyond.” That’s because charter school leaders, teachers, support staff, students, parents, and communities have gone above and beyond as charter schools across the nation have moved to distance learning in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Visit our Cross Country Education Virtual Services and see how we can help bolster your school’s online educational support needs during the COVID-19 crisis and beyond.
How National Charter Schools Week Began
In 2014, President Barack Obama established National Charter Schools Week through a presidential proclamation: “We pay tribute to the role our Nation's public charter schools play in advancing opportunity, and we salute the parents, educators, community leaders, policymakers, and philanthropists who gave rise to the charter school sector… I commend our Nation's charter schools, teachers, and administrators, and I call on States and communities to support high-quality public schools, including charter schools and the students they serve.”
