What Are Brain Breaks?

“Brain breaks” are activities that give kids a chance to take a rest from whatever they’ve been actively concentrating on. Taking breaks can ease frustration, reduce stress, and improve focus.

Brain breaks should include movement and heavy work activities to have a calming effect for students. They can also be an effective way to integrate a variety of sensory input into a student’s day.
