Congratulations to our September 2019 Sub of the Month Lucia Cepero! Lucia, a Behavior Interventionist, shared some advice for those starting out in the field as well as why she chooses DirectEd Educational Services.

Why did you become a Behavior Interventionist?

– I became a Behavior Interventionist to learn more about the fascinating cognitive processes of Autistic children, this gave me the tools necessary to better understand them and help them become successful one day at a time. Knowing that what I do, makes even the slightest difference in their lives, is most rewarding.

What do you like about DirectEd?

– I like the sense of fellowship and continuous communication DirectEd has with their employees.

What have you liked about your experience working at schools with DirectEd?

– I have loved my experience at schools thus far! It’s especially nice to know DirectEd is known for its good reputation throughout different school districts.

What kind of advice would you give to those starting out in your field?

– Be confident in your skill, be abundant in patience and know that you’re making a difference in a child’s life by showing up to work each day.

Congratulations, again, Lucia and we are so fortunate to have you on the team! Your passion for education and children shines bright.

We are passionate about developing teachers, special education providers, and school support professionals. If you are interested in learning more about DirectEd Education Services and joining our team please visit direct-ed.net/team.
