Meet Our Special Educator of the Month, SLPA Stefanie M.

At Cross Country Education, we’re honored to work with the best of the best from across the nation! We take great pride in their shared passion for helping students succeed, and we love passing along their insight to inspire others interested in this rewarding field. This month, we’re spotlighting an amazing speech-language pathology assistant, Stefanie M.

Here’s why Stefanie decided to become an SLPA, what she enjoys most about working with the Cross Country Education team and schools, and what advice she has for SLPAs just embarking on their careers.

  • Why did you become an SLPA?
I decided to go back to school, and the first thing I looked for when choosing a major was the least amount of math classes I had to take – true story. I've always been in a field that caters to the needs of others, which is a huge reward!
  •
  • What do you like about Cross Country Education?
It's all about the support! I need reminders for certain reports that have deadlines, and the emails are always so gentle and kind. I'm a work in progress, but team CCE makes me feel like I'm a star!
  •
  • What have you liked about your experience working at CCE schools?
So far, the schools have been welcoming when they know a Cross Country Education employee is coming.
  •
  • What advice would you give to someone starting out in your field?
Please relax, have fun and take your time. You have a year to meet goals, not your first session. Not all therapy ideas are going to work, and that's ok, I assure you the students won't hold it against you. No question is a stupid question, and if you're unsure, CCE has the best supervisors, so go on and ask :-)
